Modular is my new band that has a unique take on modern jazz with Balkan rhythmic and melodic influences that mix in with complex groove, the avant-garde and freedom for the band to modulate the music in the spark of the moment.
The music has been cooking for the past year in the clubs of Paris and festivals in France. The band, aside from me on drums features guitarist Manu Codjia whose distinct sound and style left a mark on a whole generation that listened to Eric Truffaz or Henri Texier’s groups; young prodigy bassist Matis Regnault and flutist Ludivine Issambourg, a leader on the parisian electro-jazz scene.
